Mandelic Acid extracted from bitter almonds is a type of gentle alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) that helps reduce acne, fine lines, and wrinkles and improve the appearance of uneven skin. It is used as an exfoliator in skin care products that helps improve dull uneven complexions and decreases dark spots. This AHA is also much gentler than glycolic acid which people use in skin care routines as chemical peels or exfoliants. It may be suitable for people with sensitive skin or those who find other chemical exfoliants too strong for their skin.
