LACTOBIONIC ACID

Lactobionic Acid is Non-irritating Polyhydroxy Acid (PHA) derived from milk sugar. Lactobionic Acid helps prevent and reverse the appearance of photoaging, including lines and wrinkles, uneven pigmentation, enlarged pores and roughness. A potent antioxidant used to prevent oxidative damage to transplant organs, lactobionic Acid protects the skin against photoaging by inhibiting the MMP enzymes that degrade the skin’s structure and strength. A natural humectant, it binds water to create a moisturizing barrier on skin, providing softness and a velvety smoothness. This ingredient is suitable for all skin types and can be used after procedures.

The molecules that make up lactobionic acid are much smaller than those found in traditional acid-based skin treatments, which means that they do not penetrate the skin as deeply. It still provides the buffing and exfoliation of other acid treatments, but it stays on the surface of the skin, causing less damage and less inflammation.
